Obama, Murdoch, Limbaugh and You

The corporate media lobby has dictated media ownership rules for decades, and the results are appalling:

People
of color own just 3 percent of our country’s full-power TV stations, and just 7.7 percent of our radio stations. Women own just 6 percent of all broadcast outlets. And the collusion between corporate media and powerful leaders in Washington has allowed companies like News Corp. to create monopolies in local print and broadcast media and crowd out independent voices.

Now Obama’s Federal Communications Commission is favoring a rule change that would hand the likes of Rupert Murdoch and Rush Limbaugh even more power over broadcast media.

Join the tens of thousands of people who have told the FCC that enough is enough. It’s time to stop runaway media consolidation. Together we can demand that FCC commissioners stand up to media giants and pave the way for diverse, independent media.
