Stand with the Arrested Journalists

So far more than 50 journalists have been arrested in the U.S. while covering the Occupy Wall Street movement. Free Press is working with journalists to document each arrest as it happens (see footage of one of the most recent arrests above). These arrests are becoming so commonplace that the United States’ ranking in the global press freedom index has plummeted 27 spots to number 47.

The First Amendment is not just for journalists — we all depend on the fundamental right to free speech. Please sign this letter to take a stand with these arrested journalists.

We'll deliver your message of support directly to the arrested journalists and the organizations that represent them.

To First Amendment advocates like the Society of Professional Journalists, the National Press Photographers Association and all the recently arrested journalists:

When journalists are arrested, everyone’s freedom is at risk. I stand in defense of our First Amendment rights with the more than 50 journalists who have been detained in the United States.
