Demand Mayor Richards Protect Press Freedoms

In the last two months, more than 30 journalists have been arrested while trying to cover Occupy protests in 10 cities around the U.S. There have also been widespread reports of press harassment and intimidation.

More than 40,000 people have signed our letter telling mayors to rein in these attacks.

While most mayors have remained silent, some members of Congress and the United Nations envoy for freedom of expression have urged leaders in the U.S. to do more to protect the First Amendment rights of journalists and protesters.

Below is a list of the journalists arrested thus far.

Help ensure that your mayor stands up for press freedoms and drops all charges against any journalists arrested in your city. Call Mayor Richards today.
