Comcastrophe

The merger of Comcast and NBC Universal is a disaster for democratic media in America. I pledge to stand with others to stop similar mergers and protect access to diverse voices and local choices in the media.

Last spring the FCC approved the merger of Comcast, the nation’s largest cable and Internet provider, with NBC Universal. The Justice Department followed suit, leading to the unprecedented consolidation of media and Internet power.

Letting one company control both the pipes and the content that flows over those pipes is a formula for abuse. Comcast has already targeted Netflix and other companies that compete with its video and Internet offerings.  There’s no way to sugarcoat it. Wherever you live, the Comcast-NBC merger is a disaster.

We are monitoring Comcast and holding its feet to the fire. Sign this pledge to protect your community against future Comcast abuses, and we'll connect you to a growing network of activists in your area and beyond.

Then, use Twitter, Facebook and email to urge your friends to sign on as well.

We can’t afford even more media consolidation. Sign our pledge now and help us stop future media disasters.
