Stop Online Spying Legislation in the Senate

The House recently rushed through a vote on CISPA — the "Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act" — a bill that would give the federal government and big companies limitless powers to spy on you. Unfortunately, it passed.

Supporters in the House were so rattled by mounting public opposition to their creepy bill — more than 1 million people told them to ditch it — that they passed the legislation before our outcry could spread any further.

The focus now moves to the Senate, which is expected to take up its own cybersecurity legislation in the coming weeks.

Let’s keep the pressure on Congress. Tell the Senate it must not take away our freedom to communicate in the name of cybersecurity.

Dear Senator,

I urge you to vote “NO” on any cybersecurity legislation that violates our right to communicate freely online.

There may be effective ways to protect vital national interests from cyber attacks. But we should not pass legislation that threatens our online rights.
